Call of Duty Black Ops is now the top selling game in history

Black Ops has officially sold over 13.7 million units in the US alone! Not only does this make it the best selling game of 2010, but also the best selling game in history. With the last title, Modern Warfare 2, bringing in $310 million in one day in North America and the UK combined! But wait theres more, when Black Ops launched it broke the opening day record again with $360 million combined in both countries.During the last earnings call, Activision was throwing around some incredible numbers.

As of February 2, 2011, more than 27 million gamers have played Call of Duty games online, logging more than 2 billion hours, or the equivalent of more than 229,000 years of gameplay. The amount of players online with Black Ops is equal to the number of Netflix subs. - CEO Bobby Kotick

We  can keep talking about the exponential numbers, but we don’t want to over do it. With the Call of Duty franchise becoming very popular with Call of Duty 4, the sales might hit another record high when Modern Warfare 3* will be released. I personally think that it’s so crazy that now every single fps is compared to Call of Duty. Their success shines in their work, and they deserve every single bit on it. Bottom Line: Call of Duty Black Ops is now the top selling game in history, and is still selling copies daily!
