Gamestaq actually gives power to the players
More and more companies are starting to cut out the middle man. With their slogan being “We believe that the power should actually be given to the players,” Gamestaq is after some big fishes. As you may know, Gamestop is one of the biggest eater of the 2 billion used games market. They pay you unfair prices for brand new titles. As soon as you turn around and head home, they put the game up for sale with an incredible markup price. While gamers like us are not stupid and completely realize it, we all just got used to the process. Apart from Gamestop lets not forget Craigslist, we all know the risks there.
To eliminate the competition, Gamestaq’s goal is to provide a marketplace where you can buy and sell video games directly with other gamers in a simple and efficient way. One way to think of Gamestaq is a niche selling website for video games. Think Ebay, Craigslist, and Amazon meets Gamestop. With a small $1-2 processing fee, Gamestaq provides low prices for the buyer and great money for the seller. A great feature that Gamestq possesses, is that each listing gets its own unique URL. With this URL you can do some leg work by sharing the sale of Facebook, Twitter, and other social media websites.
Gamestaq should really consider selling other gaming goods like Consoles and accesories. These new features would provide an online used gaming store experience. With digital downloads becoming the norm, disc-based games will stick around for at least four or five more years. After that Gamestaq might see a download-fall, and the need to re strategize.
Bottom Line: Gamestaq is a great new service that takes aim at online video game retailers. It provides a stupid proof way to sell and buy video games online.
